Font - Lady came in after we closed and changed our sign to say open I work at a gift shop which closes at 5, the same time the park closes, but because it was gonna rain that night, we had to move our outdoor fixtures inside.

Font - We had the main doors open so we could get the fixtures through, and a lady who was leaving the park got past me (i was holding the door) and went over to the sign on our front door which says closed and f king flipped it to say open. i just watched her do this in shocked silence, and when she turned around we made eye contact and just stared for a second.

Font - I then said to her "why did you do that" and she said "well aren't you open?" ok, i thought, maybe she just thought we had made a mistake with the signs and made the heroic effort to fix it for us (still annoying but people are stupid). I explain to her that we are closed, just keeping the doors open to bring the outside product inside. She then said to me, "Well you should be open you know. You should be getting all the sales you can right now."

Font - sparrowmoss OP i forgot to finish my story when i posted this, my bad! After her last comment i looked at her very miserably and said "well i want to go home." in response she just shrugged and mumbled something. i told her once again that we are closed and turned the sign back around. she left after that, didn't need to get a manager or anything. love retail

Font - Wizards_Win In situations like this I point out I'm the manager and therefore outrank a sign.

Font - Moth Man8MyA I love how people think that the amount of s that is sold at a chain store will translate into bigger paychecks for the employee. So many people with the mindset of "you should want to be open and selling as much stuff as you can so you make more money." Nah b, I wanna go home and rest!

Font - Indotex Once when doing freight one night after we were closed, we had someone PUSH open our automatic sliding doors, come in & start browsing.

Rectangle - IAmConspiracy You had the last 12 hours to buy s. Doors closed, goodbye

Font - ToastAbrikoos "Well are you going to buy a lot of stuff to compensate? The sales department would listen very much to when it's busy to buy stuff"

Font - Seonaid MacSaicais. "Nah, I'm just gonna walk around for an hour and buy a 50¢ keychain. Thanks for staying open!"

Font - bookqueen3 I would have told her if she needs a job that badly to open the closed shop, I would get her an application.

Font - or10n_sharkfin The arrogance of this is why I don't ever regret leaving retail. I couldn't count on two hands the amount of closing shifts I'd worked where we had customers still coming in literally the minute before we closed and argued with us that they were entitled to shop in the store as long as the doors were still opened.

Font - Overall-Surround-925 I worked at a convenience/news stand type store in a mall. One day I was closing...like physically pulling the metal sliding door closed...and this guy jumped in before the gate was completely shut and said "woohoo made it!"
